- A deep saucepan
Instructions
- Put saucepan over medium heat.
- Add butter and melt.
- Once butter melts, it will begin to bubble up with translucent bubbles. Give the pan a swirl.
- Watch butter closely for a few minutes.
- Bubbles with transition to foam, watch the foam closely this is when it is susceptible to burning.
- When a dot of brown appears in the middle of the foam and begins to spread outward, remove from heat and swirl. Allow to cool for 20 minutes before using in baking recipes.
