Sigh…it’s Day 12 but I’ve saved a good one to end on. You need something to dunk all of those goodies in, right? If you watch my videos, you hear me end every video introduction with “grab a cup of hot cocoa, it’s time to bake some magic in Mrs. Kringle’s Kitchen” and for good reason. Our Sunday evening tradition is hot cocoa whether its -20 or 95 degrees. We usually do a quick version that I’ll share another time but since it’s the holidays, we should get a little decadent, right?
We found a Lindt Chocolate store at an outlet mall and stopped in. When we noticed they served hot chocolate, we had to go for it. It was so easy and so tasty, I knew I had to recreate it at home and the cool thing is, you can mix and match truffles to customize the flavors! In this video, I’ll show you how in less than 10 minutes you can have the most luxurious hot cocoa to enjoy with some 12 Days of Treats recipes! (Or any random Sunday!)
The video shows you how to bring it all together and what the recipe should look like in different stages.

Truffle Hot Cocoa
Ingredients
- 5 Lindt Truffles
- 8-10 oz of milk of your choice
- 1 large stacker marshmallow (or several regular sized)
Instructions
- Turn broiler on high.
- Add your milk to a saucepan over medium low heat. Stir every minute so the milk comes to temperature without scalding.
- When slight wisps of steam form, turn heat to low and add 4 truffles.
- Stir to melt truffles.
- Place a marshmallow or two on a small cookie sheet under the broiler. Keep a close eye on it until it toasts to your preference then pull from the oven.
- Spray a spatula with cooking spray to remove the marshmallow if it's sticking.
- Pour hot cocoa into your mug, top with marshmallow and place half a truffle on top of the marshmallow.
