If you find yourself watching the Food Network or Cooking Channel, you have likely heard the term “mise en place.” (pronounced meezen plahs) It’s basically a fancy French culinary term for getting all of your ingredients in one place for a recipe.
This video shows you how I use mise en place to my advantage to keep my cool in the kitchen.
But what about outside the kitchen? Can the concept of mise en place help you in everyday life? You bet! Think of pretty much anything you do in your daily life. How much better do you feel when you write down a to-do list at the end of a workday for what you want to accomplish the next day? With spring cleaning coming up on us, the concept of mise en place is handy for tackling those types of projects. If you know you are going to deep clean your bedrooms including closets, you will need trash bags, cleaners, paper towels/microfiber cloths, a box for donating items, etc.
By having everything in its place allows you not to have to run around grabbing things you will need because it’s all right there. If you have to run downstairs to grab a trash bag for one thing, then try to find a box for donations, the chances of you getting distracted or frustrated are high. Take it from experience. Who knew that something you might hear uttered by Chef Anne on Worst Cooks in America could actually help you get your mental and actual house in order!

It makes total sense, but it’s definitely something I need to be better at, because my kitchen is always a mess, especially when I’m cooking with the kids.

I did not get trash pick up last week (it came a day late) I did not get any yard waste pick up last week at all .. I once went 3 consecutive weeks without any yard waste pick up at all.. our city is expanding, waste pro is still the same size I”m glad to see the attention paid to this by our City officials, albeit a bit late. Trash blown around, including bottles run over by the tucks, left all over our cul-de-sac after pickups that I clean up after One time a waste pro worker came at my face with a broken wine bottle (long story) while AC/DC blared in the background but good thing it was all on HD surveillance. To all who give this company heroic praise, I can only assume you are all wearing daily doses of extra strength rose perfume, with woollen covered sunglasses. buy viagra online
