Did anyone else grow up sneaking cookie dough and live to tell the tale? Me too. Now to be clear, I’m not advocating eating cookie dough just because I do. But now that edible cookie dough is a thing; all bets are off. While perusing a store in Toronto last year, I spied a cookie dough Easter egg. I meant to buy it but got distracted and never got it.
Womp womp.
As I was lamenting missing my chance, I thought “eh, I could probably make a better one anyway…oooh and I could stuff it with a Cadbury egg.” Because you know, a blob of chocolate covered cookie dough wasn’t going to be decadent enough on its own. I almost forgot about it until I saw them in the grocery store and a smile crossed my lips remembering my gluttonous idea. I have to say; it’s the best thing I’ve ever put in my face because whether the OG creme or caramel is your jam, this recipe has you covered.
When I gave Mr. Kringle his egg (we split one of each), he made these grunty sounds that I suspected would attract Sasquatches if we’d been in the wilderness. I had to agree. It’s “there are no words gruntalicious.” When I was a kid, my grandma put out a platter of Russell Stover eggs with little jelly beans and such for the big kids. I have taken over the tradition by bringing it to Easter so the adults get a nice kick of nostalgia. I might just have to throw a few of these in there because really, who wouldn’t want to reach into a centerpiece that look like this?
If you’re ready to be the hero of Easter treats, it’s time to get down to business! The video shows you how to bring it all together and what the recipe should look like in different stages.

Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Eggs
Notes
You can also use Ferraro chocolate or hazelnut creme mini eggs for extra flavor choices.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp of flour (microwaved for 30 seconds and sifted)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 4 tbsp almond or evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- Mini Cadbury Creme and Caramel Eggs (3 of each)
- 1 cup chocolate chips melted
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Microwave the flour for 30 seconds making sure to stir after 15 seconds. Then sift it to cool it off.
- To a mixing bowl, add your flour, light brown sugar, and salt and stir to combine.
- Add vanilla extract, and half of the almond or evaporated milk and your ¼ cup of mini chocolate chips.
- Stir and add more milk a tbsp at a time.
- Unwrap a mini candy eggs and grab a cookie scoop size ball of dough. Flatten the dough until it’s about the size of the palm of your hand.
- Place your mini egg in the middle of the dough and pull the sides up to completely enclose the egg. Then roll to smooth out the texture.
- Place it on a wax paper covered plate while you work on the other ones. (Label your wax paper as to which filling is inside.)
- Cover them with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 20 minutes.
- Get a small pan of water boiling to make a double boiler if you don't have one. Place a metal or tempered glass bowl on top and turn the heat to medium low.
- Add 1 cup chocolate chips to the bowl and allow to slowly melt. When it’s smooth, turn the heat down to low.
- Place one of the eggs into the chocolate and coat thoroughly. Move the egg onto a fork and gently shake to allow the excess to drip off.
- Assign sprinkles for each filling so you know which fillings are which and top chocolate egg before it hardens.
- Store covered in the fridge for up to 5 days. Allow to come to room temperature before serving so the filling will be gooey.
