Sometimes you know you have a hard day ahead of you and you need some dopamine. Others, you had no idea how hard of a day it was going to be and you need some dopamine. I should’ve just named this Dopamine Quesadilla because that’s basically what it is but its given name is Nutella® Peanut Butter and Banana Quesadilla. It is loaded with ooey, gooey deliciousness and keeps you surprisingly full all morning. It’s pretty packed full of yum…
I like to use crunchy peanut butter for more texture but you’re more than welcome to use creamy, you crazy kid, you! You can also try cookie butter if you like, though it might lean toward the sweet side but hey, sometimes you need a little sweet, right? I usually eat it for breakfast once every other week and dang do I look forward to that day! But it’s just as delicious for dessert! Don’t forget the whipped cream!
If you’d prefer to have one half Nutella and one half peanut butter, just place the bananas like this:

Notes
If you prefer one side of all Nutella and one of all peanut butter, place the banana slices so that one half of the Nutella and one half of the peanut butter are covered. (The topping line splitting them will be down the middle.) When you do the flip and cut down the middle, you'll have one quesadilla wedge of each.
Ingredients
- 1 tortilla (I use Tumaro's Low Carb Honey Wheat)
- 2 tbsp crunchy (or smooth) peanut butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp Nutella/chocolate hazelnut spread
- 1 banana, sliced
- Whipped cream, optional
Instructions
- Heat skillet over medium heat.
- Place tortilla on a plate and spread peanut butter over half.
- Turn the plate to the blank side and spread the Nutella on that side.
- Lay the banana slices on one side (your preference as to Nutella or PB side)
- Slide into skillet and allow to cook until you just see the peanut butter and tortilla start to bubble.
- Flip the side with no bananas over so it covers the bananas and is now in half. Cook for 1 minute then carefully flip over to crisp up the other side.
- Plate up, cut in half and top with whipped cream after a minute or two to cool.

Nothing is better than chocolate, peanut butter, and banana! I think this recipe would have the same effects as dopamine. 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Fiesta Friday!
I literally just finished one and dang am I relaxed! 😀
I love “dessert quesadillas” as I call them! I still haven’t jumped on the Nutella wagon though. But have you ever tried melting pb and chocolate chips together?? YUM. Huge part of the reason I can’t lose those extra 35 pounds.
Happy weekend, my friend!
More Nutella for me! I’ve not done that but if I use Trader Joe’s 72% chocolate chopped up, maybe I can call it healthy? Happy Weekend to you as well!
These look totally delicious. Nutella is my guilty pleasure. Must try them today!
This will be all pleasure…no guilt! 😉
It looks so good! I love Nutella. I can’t seem to get my kids to like it as much as I do. I’d end up eating all of it. LOL!
Me too! At least we’ll be in good company! 😀
I have a daughter and grandchildren who will love this! I’ll be sharing it with them, for sure.
Thank you for sharing this week at this week’s Encouraging hearts & Home Blog Hop.
I hope they love it as much as we do! 🙂
