No Flip Over Easy Eggs

Jump to recipe

There is nothing worse than getting the perfect egg into the skillet only to have it swan dive when you flip it for an over easy egg.  The term “over easy” can seem like a joke if you can’t get the flip mastered.  What if I told you, you can get perfectly over easy eggs WITHOUT flipping them?  No…you’re not dreaming.  In this video, I show you how to make truly easy, over easy-like eggs by basting them.  Leave the spatula for a burger! Over 3 million video views can’t be wrong!

  1. I am 67 years old and always loved eggs over easy but often I wound up breaking the eggs flipping them over. Now retired I do all the cooking and my wife requests eggs over easy and I wanted to find a way to get them perfect for her because she’s really special to me. Well after looking at a bunch of “tips” I ran across your tip about adding a little water at the end and covering the eggs. WOW!!!! It was the only tip that actually worked and now I make the best eggs over easy every time without having to worry about flipping and breaking them. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It may not be such a big deal to most people but it is to me. I love to cook and to do it well. You made my day! God bless.

    1. I am so happy to hear this tip helped you, John! My husband loves eggs the same way and I was glad to finally not have to risk breaking the yolk too! Anything is a big deal that makes our lives a little easier! 😀

  2. Its Xmas in Oz (Australia), For once we have no bushfires anywhere, little drought, and plenty of water. The weather is great everywhere.
My traditional Boxing day (today) breakfast is ham, from yesterday’s Xmas lunch, ‘bubble and squeak’ (chopped up pumpkin, potato and any other vege), again from yesterday’s lunch and fried eggs over easy.
My thanks go to you for showing me how I do not need to flip. The eggs turned out perfectly.

  3. this works the best. my wife asks me to do eggs this way all the time. I have seen may “how to” cooking videos and yours are the best, I watched your lesson on the pesto scrambled eggs. I found out what I was doing wrong trying to make scrambled eggs, and now those are working out much-much better. I also like that I can read the recipe as a follow up to the video which also helps, thank you.
